Abstract:
The present piece, titled A Movement for Symphonic Orchestra, is written using the sonata form and incorporates a micro-form of theme and variation within the development section.
The structural components of this movement include: Introduction – Exposition – Development – Recapitulation – and Cadenza.
Although the work draws its melodic material from folk tunes of Mazandaran, it also employs twentieth-century and contemporary compositional resources. These elements are evident in the melodic inflections, the freely tonal environment of the themes and their expansions, the harmonic language, the orchestral color, and more—all of which are examined in detail in the analysis section.
It is worth noting that traces of Iranian music can be felt throughout the piece. Overall, thematically, the first and second themes begin with tonal and modal characteristics that gradually evolve toward freer tonality as they develop, reaching the height of tonal instability in the development section.

Abstract:
The piece is written in theme-and-variation form and in the Chahargah mode on F-sharp.
In the first 12 measures, the introduction is played, and in measure 13 the main theme is introduced, accompanied by the clarinets.
In the first variation, using the rhythmic pattern of the theme as well as expansion and development techniques, the melody is played by the flutes, oboe, and B-flat clarinet.
In the second variation, the melody appears in a call-and-response texture between the strings and woodwinds, while the bassoon, tuba, cello, and double bass provide accompaniment using the rhythmic patterns of the main theme.
In the third variation, the melodic motion is presented in an ascending shape—opposite of the original theme—and further expanded. The melody is played by the brass section in Mahoor on D.
In the fourth variation, the melodic pattern of the main theme is treated as a descending sequence, passed from the string section to the woodwinds, while the brass section supports the rhythm. The melody then modulates to Chahargah on G and Chahargah on A, and finally returns to Chahargah on F-sharp.
In the coda, the flutes begin softly (pianissimo), and gradually the other instruments join in, leading the piece to its conclusion with the full ensemble.

Abstract:
Fantasy is an orchestral Composition. Drawing upon Persian folk motives as its primary source material, the piece explores a synthesis of traditional melodic elements with twentieth-century compositional techniques. The title Fantasy reflects both the free, imaginative nature of the form and its departure from strict classical structures, allowing themes to evolve fluidly through variation, transformation, and contrasting textures.
The work incorporates modal inflections characteristic of Persian folk music while integrating modern harmonic language, expanded orchestral colors, and contemporary developmental procedures. Through this fusion of heritage and innovation, Fantasy seeks to create a sound world in which folkloric expression and modern compositional thought coexist, offering a personal interpretation of cultural identity within a modern orchestral framework.
